Canada 1920 1c PCGS SP-64 RD (Ex. Blay)
The only example in private hands, and a true Canadian rarity: two examples exist in the Bank of Canada Museum, however this coin is nicer than both of those.
Canada 1921 1c PCGS SP-65 BN (Ex. Blay)
1921 is a key date in Canadian numismatics, and SP coins such as this nicely toned 1c are among the most coveted. This coin is a bargain compared to other denominations in SP; 5c and 50c number four and six at PCGS, respectively, and reach well over six figures, while the 1c has a population of eight and can be obtained for comfortably under five figures.
(SOLD) Canada 1922 1c PCGS SP-65 BN (Ex. Blay)
With a known population of only four, the 1922 1c in SP is an underrated coin, given the relative population of 1922 5c in SP. In our opinion, out of any date in the KGV SP 1c run, the 1922 stands to see the largest percentage increase in value over the next few decades. The sublimely toned example here is tied with one other coin for finest known.
Canada 1928 1c PCGS SP-65 RD (Ex. Belzberg, Blay)
A truly stunning coin featuring a crisp mirrored obverse, paired with a multicoloured reverse displaying a delicate cameo on the devices. This coin is the finest of roughly a dozen known, and only one of two with the full intact mint red colour.
Canada 1929 1c PCGS SP-66 RD (Ex. Belzberg, Blay)
Boasting no discernable flaws, this coin has merit for a SP-67 grade. Likely the best-preserved and most original KGV SP small cent in existence, across all dates. The dark colouring on the obverse are areas where the thin layer of lacquer did not reach; they are lustrous areas, not carbon. The ultimate KGV SP small cent for the type set collector.
Canada 1930 1c PCGS SP-66 BN (Ex. Blay)
With only five examples in SP known, and absent from the Bank of Canada Museum, the 1930 SP 1c is a tough rarity. This coin not only possesses the best eye appeal of the five, but it may also have the nicest toning on any KGV SP small cent. The PCGS TrueViews do not do the coin justice, as the colours are exceedingly vibrant in hand.
